1. Our Commitment

At OnlineSPSS, we believe that professional statistical consultancy should be supported by clear expectations, transparent pricing, and fair treatment.

We are committed to delivering the services described in each accepted project proposal with reasonable professional care, methodological accuracy, and attention to the Client’s research requirements.

If a project does not meet its agreed scope, contains a material deficiency, or cannot be completed as agreed, we will work with the Client to find an appropriate resolution.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include complimentary corrections, revised delivery arrangements, a partial refund, or a full refund.

Every cancellation and refund request is considered fairly, taking account of the agreed Scope of Work, the services already performed, and any applicable legal rights.

2. Cancellation Before Project Commencement

Clients may request cancellation before work begins.

Where no project work has commenced, OnlineSPSS will normally provide a full refund of the amount paid, including any advance payment or deposit.

For clarity, project work commences only when the applicable commencement conditions have been satisfied and OnlineSPSS has begun performing services under the agreed proposal.

These conditions ordinarily include:

  • Receipt of the required advance payment or deposit.
  • Receipt of all essential research materials, datasets, and instructions in a usable form.
  • Resolution of outstanding information necessary to begin the agreed work.
  • Arrival of the mutually agreed commencement date, where applicable.

Payment or acceptance of a proposal does not, by itself, mean that analytical work has commenced.

3. Cancellation After Project Commencement

If a Client chooses to cancel after services have begun, OnlineSPSS will assess the work performed up to the time of cancellation.

Where cancellation is unrelated to a failure by OnlineSPSS, The Client will ordinarily be refunded the portion of the payment attributable to services not yet performed, subject to applicable statutory withdrawal rights and the rules governing any lawful charge for services performed during a withdrawal period.

Any amount retained will reflect the reasonable value of services actually performed and, where legally permissible, any specifically authorized nonrecoverable project expenses.

We do not apply automatic cancellation percentages or arbitrary financial penalties.

For larger projects involving deposits or milestone payments, the assessment will consider the agreed stages, completed work, and applicable payment arrangements.

OnlineSPSS will explain the basis of the refund calculation.

These arrangements are subject to any statutory cancellation rights that apply to the Client’s transaction.

4. When a Full Refund May Be Available

A full refund may be appropriate in the following circumstances:

4.1 Services cannot be provided

OnlineSPSS is unable to undertake or deliver the agreed project, and no meaningful service has been performed.

4.2 Material failure to meet the agreed scope

The delivered work substantially fails to meet the agreed Scope of Work, and the deficiency cannot be appropriately resolved within a reasonable timeframe.

4.3 Unresolved analytical deficiencies

The Client identifies substantiated material errors or deficiencies attributable to OnlineSPSS.

Where appropriate, we will first offer to correct these deficiencies at no additional cost.

If reasonable corrective efforts do not adequately resolve the problem, a full refund may be provided where the deliverables no longer fulfil their agreed purpose.

4.4 Material delivery failure

OnlineSPSS materially fails to meet an agreed delivery deadline for reasons attributable to us, and the delay renders the agreed services no longer reasonably useful for their expressly communicated purpose.

4.5 Duplicate or incorrect payment

A duplicate payment, incorrect charge, or other confirmed payment error has occurred.

The incorrectly collected amount will be refunded.

The above circumstances are not intended to restrict any additional refund or contractual remedies available under applicable law.

5. Partial Refunds

A partial refund may be appropriate where some services have been properly completed but other agreed services remain outstanding or materially deficient.

The amount will be assessed according to the circumstances, including:

  • The original Scope of Work.
  • The services satisfactorily performed.
  • The proportion of work remaining.
  • The nature and significance of any deficiencies.
  • The reasonable value of any independently usable completed work.

Our aim is to ensure that Clients are not charged for services that OnlineSPSS has failed to provide, while fairly recognizing professional work already performed.

Where a partial refund is agreed, the parties may also confirm which deliverables and associated intellectual property rights are transferred to the Client.

6. Quality Concerns and Revision Opportunities

We encourage Clients to inform us if their deliverables contain errors, omissions, or material inconsistencies with the accepted proposal.

Unless a different period is specified in the proposal, OnlineSPSS provides a standard 30-calendar-day revision period following delivery.

Reasonable revisions within the original agreed scope are provided without additional charge.

Where a substantiated deficiency is identified, we will normally offer an opportunity to correct the affected work within a reasonable timeframe and without significant inconvenience.

If reasonable corrective efforts do not resolve the issue, the Client may request a partial or full refund.

The standard revision period does not remove statutory rights or automatically prevent a later claim relating to deficient services.

Please refer to our Revision Policy for further information.

7. Client Dissatisfaction

We recognize that research projects can be complex and that Clients may have concerns even after analytical work has been delivered.

We are open to reviewing genuine dissatisfaction, including concerns raised after reasonable revision attempts.

Clients are encouraged to describe the issue and provide relevant examples, such as discrepancies with the Scope of Work, methodological concerns, or documented reporting problems.

OnlineSPSS will examine the concern in good faith and explain its findings.

Where no contractual deficiency is established, a refund is not automatically guaranteed. However, we may offer a discretionary partial or full goodwill refund where appropriate.

A statistically nonsignificant result, unexpected research finding, journal rejection, or subsequent change in a supervisor’s preferences does not, by itself, establish that the agreed services were deficient.

Nevertheless, we will consider whether any concern reflects an error or omission in the work OnlineSPSS agreed to perform.

8. Missed Deadlines

Delivery timelines begin only when all required commencement conditions have been satisfied.

If essential datasets, instructions, or supporting documents are incomplete or delayed, OnlineSPSS will communicate the resulting impact on the delivery schedule.

Where a delay is attributable to OnlineSPSS, we will notify the Client and discuss an appropriate resolution.

Depending on the circumstances, the Client may choose to consider:

  • A reasonable revised delivery date; or
  • An appropriate partial or full refund, taking account of the impact of the delay and the services already performed.

Where the Client has clearly communicated a time-sensitive purpose before accepting the proposal, this will be considered when assessing whether delayed delivery remains useful.

We will not automatically reject a refund request solely because a deadline was missed by fewer than a fixed number of hours or days.

9. Changes to the Agreed Scope

Refund eligibility is assessed against the accepted Scope of Work.

New research questions, additional hypotheses, replacement datasets, new statistical models, or materially revised requirements are not automatically included in the original project.

Where additional work is requested, OnlineSPSS will explain whether a revised quotation is necessary.

A Client’s decision not to purchase additional services does not invalidate work properly completed under the original agreement.

However, where a requested change is necessary to remedy an error attributable to OnlineSPSS or an omission from the original agreed scope, it will be handled as a correction rather than as chargeable additional work.

10. How to Request a Refund

Clients may request a refund by contacting:

Email: info@onlinespss.com

Please include:

  • Your project reference or identifying project details.
  • A brief explanation of the cancellation or refund request.
  • Any relevant supporting information, where applicable.
  • Your preferred resolution, if you have one.

OnlineSPSS will acknowledge the request, review the relevant project records, and communicate its assessment and proposed resolution within a reasonable timeframe.

Where clarification is needed, we may request additional information. We will not impose unreasonable evidentiary requirements or automatically dismiss a complaint solely because a particular document cannot be provided.

Clients are encouraged to contact us promptly when a concern arises, but the absence of a complaint within a particular short administrative window will not automatically extinguish otherwise valid rights.

Nothing in this process restricts a Client’s ability to exercise applicable legal rights or raise a payment dispute through their payment provider.

11. Refund Processing

Once a refund has been approved, OnlineSPSS will initiate payment without unreasonable delay and within any deadline required by applicable law.

Refunds will normally be issued to the original payment method unless another arrangement is expressly agreed and legally permitted.

The time required for funds to appear in the Client’s account may depend on the bank, card issuer, or payment processor.

OnlineSPSS will not impose a refund administration fee where prohibited by applicable law.

Where currency conversion is involved, the final amount credited may be affected by exchange-rate movements or independently imposed financial-provider charges.

12. Intellectual Property Following a Refund

Clients always retain rights in their original datasets, manuscripts and research materials. Rights in project-specific reports, statistical output, scripts and other work created by OnlineSPSS follow Section 11 of our Terms & Conditions.

Full payment is ordinarily required before rights in agreed project-specific deliverables transfer. A full refund does not itself give OnlineSPSS rights over a client’s original research. If rights were already validly assigned before a refund, any return or reassignment of those rights must be documented through an enforceable written arrangement; it must not be assumed to happen automatically.

Confidentiality obligations continue regardless of payment or refund status.

13. International Clients and Statutory Consumer Cancellation Rights

OnlineSPSS serves clients in the United States, United Kingdom, European Union and other markets. Applicable rights depend on the client’s legal status, location, contract type and governing consumer law. There is no universal US federal 14-day cooling-off rule for ordinary online statistical consultancy services.

For qualifying UK and EU consumer distance-service contracts, a statutory withdrawal period will generally run for 14 days after contract conclusion, subject to the relevant conditions, exceptions and any more protective applicable rules. Consumers can cancel by an unequivocal statement; use of the model form below is optional.

If a consumer expressly requests that services begin within the withdrawal period, applicable law determines whether a proportionate amount may be charged for work performed before withdrawal. A loss of withdrawal rights following full service performance applies only when the required conditions, express request and acknowledgments have been satisfied. We provide pre-contract information and the required cancellation form before concluding a qualifying consumer contract. Contractual cancellation rights and remedies for deficient services remain separate from statutory withdrawal rights.

Model Cancellation Form (for applicable consumer contracts)

Complete and send this form only if you wish to cancel an eligible contract. You may instead send any other clear cancellation statement to info@onlinespss.com.

14. Relationship to Our Terms & Conditions

This Refund & Cancellation Policy forms part of the service framework described in our Terms & Conditions.

Project-specific arrangements may supplement this policy where expressly agreed and legally permitted.

If a provision conflicts with mandatory applicable law, the legal requirement takes precedence.
