STATISTICAL CONSULTING

Statistical Support Across the Research Process

OnlineSPSS is a specialist statistical consultancy whose services follow the stages of a research project, not a single generic data analysis product. Planning comes before data collection: study design, outcomes, sample size and the analysis plan. Quantitative analysis covers data preparation, models and diagnostics, while qualitative and mixed methods analysis covers systematic coding and the integration of findings. Reporting and interpretation turns completed analysis into structured results, tables and figures. Evidence synthesis summarizes and, where appropriate, pools findings across studies, and independent review examines an analysis that already exists. A project may need one service or several at different stages.

OUR SERVICES

Statistical Analysis Services for Research

Six statistical consulting services cover the research process from planning to review. Choose the one that matches where your project stands, or describe the project and we will confirm which service and scope fit.

Research Planning & Study Design

Statistical planning before data collection: study design, outcomes and variables, sample size and power, and the Statistical Analysis Plan for protocols, grants and IRB submissions.

HOW IT WORKS

A Clear Process From Assessment to Delivery

Every project starts with a review of your research and materials, so the scope, deliverables, timeline and fixed project fee are clear before any work begins.

1

Share Your Project

Send your research question, study materials and any data. We will tell you if anything else is needed to assess the project.

2

Receive Your Assessment

A statistically trained Research Coordinator reviews your project to define the analytical work, deliverables, timeline, and fixed project fee based on your actual research requirements. If anything needs clarification, we may request additional supporting documents before finalizing your quote.

Work Completed

Once you confirm the scope, an in-house statistician carries out the agreed analysis and delivers the agreed outputs.

PROJECT PRICING & PAYMENT

A Fixed Project Fee, Agreed Before Work Begins

Pricing depends on the statistical requirements and scope of the individual research project, so OnlineSPSS reviews the work before providing a fixed quote.

Fixed Project Quote

One project price is provided after the scope has been reviewed.

No Hidden Extras

The agreed work is covered by the quoted fee. Additional charges apply only where you request work outside the original agreed scope.

No Commitment at Assessment

The assessment and quote can be reviewed before you decide whether to proceed.

Flexible Payment

Pay by major cards through Stripe or by PayPal, in USD, GBP or EUR. Larger projects can be paid in milestones.

RESEARCH DISCIPLINES

Statistical Support Across Research Fields

Analytical requirements differ by field: the study design, outcome types, data structure, measurement and reporting conventions of a cluster-randomized school trial are not those of a hospital cohort or a laboratory dose-response experiment. We work within that research context, not only within the software.

Medical, Health & Clinical Research

Trials, cohorts, survival and diagnostic studies

Psychology & Behavioral Sciences

Scales, experiments, repeated measures and latent constructs

Education & Social Sciences

Surveys, clustered samples and policy evaluation

Business, Management & Economics

Survey models, panel data and econometric analysis

Life & Biological Sciences

Laboratory experiments, dose-response and omics data

Sports & Exercise Science

Training studies, performance and physiological measures

STATISTICAL METHODS

Methods Matched to the Research Question and Study Design

The method follows the research question, study design, outcome type, data structure, assumptions and the interpretation the study requires. These are six of the families we work in.

Comparative & Hypothesis Testing

Group, condition and time-point comparisons

Regression & Predictive Modeling

Associations, adjusted effects and prediction

Multivariate, Scale & Reliability

Scales, factors, reliability and agreement

Structural & Latent Variable Modeling

Latent constructs, paths and measurement models

Longitudinal & Multilevel Analysis

Repeated, clustered and nested observations

Clinical, Survival & Epidemiological

Time-to-event, diagnostic and observational designs

OUR APPROACH

Statistical Support Built Around the Research

What distinguishes the work is how it is carried out and agreed: who does it, what you receive, and where responsibility sits.

In-House Statistical Expertise

The analysis is carried out in-house by PhD-level statisticians, from planning decisions to the final reported results.

Publication-Ready Results

Not raw software output: appropriate statistics, interpretation, tables, figures, effect estimates and uncertainty measures, reported to the agreed scope.

Research-Aware Support

The analytical work is considered against your research question, study design and discipline, so the method follows the study.

Clear Scope & Communication

A statistically trained Research Coordinator is your point of contact, and scope, timeline, deliverables and fixed fee are set before work begins.

Confidential Engagement

Research data and project details are handled confidentially, and an NDA is available where required.

A Defined Role

Our part of the work is set out in the agreed scope before it starts; the research question, interpretation and conclusions remain yours.

RESEARCHER VOICE

What Researchers Say

Anonymized feedback from researchers on the analysis and reporting they received.

“The analysis was much more than a set of statistical outputs. The regression models, diagnostics, effect estimates, and tables were clearly reported and directly aligned with our research questions. The final results were structured in a way that we could use immediately in the manuscript.”

“The coding framework was carefully developed and the themes were clearly connected back to the research questions. What I found most useful was the transparency of the analysis and the way the findings were organized, which made the final reporting much easier to develop.”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions About Our Statistical Analysis Services

Answers to the questions researchers ask most often before choosing a service.

You do not need to choose the service, or the statistical approach, before you submit a request. Describe the research question, where the project stands and what you have, and we confirm the service and scope during the assessment.

We respond to assessment requests the same day. A statistically trained Research Coordinator reviews the project details and materials you share, then confirms the analytical work, deliverables, timeline and one fixed project fee. There is no commitment to proceed at this stage. The timeline for the work itself is set with the scope.

Cost depends on the statistical requirements and scope of the project, so each project is reviewed first. You then receive one fixed project fee, confirmed before work begins, with no hidden extras within the agreed scope. The Pricing page explains how this works.

We support academic, clinical and professional research across medical and health, psychology, education and social sciences, business and economics, life sciences, and sports and exercise science. Each cluster is described, with its fields, on the Research Disciplines page.

We use the software that suits the analysis, including SPSS, R, Stata, SAS and Python for quantitative work and NVivo and MAXQDA for qualitative work. You receive the outputs and files agreed for the project. The Statistical Software page lists the platforms.

Research data and project details are handled confidentially, and project information is not published. Researcher names and institutions are not used publicly without permission. An NDA is available where required and can be arranged before sensitive materials are shared. Read more about confidentiality and data security.

Statistical consulting supports a study that remains yours. We carry out the agreed methodological, analytical and statistical reporting work, while the research question, substantive interpretation, conclusions and overall responsibility for the study stay with you or your research team. OnlineSPSS does not claim any intellectual contribution, and authorship remains yours.
